The Final Month Wedding Checklist: What Every Bride Should Do Before “I Do”

You’re counting down the days. After nearly a year of planning, your wedding is only weeks away!

This last month is when all the details come together – and it’s also when stress can creep in if you don’t have a clear plan.

From my years in the St. Augustine bridal industry and now as a certified wedding planner, I’ve learned that an organized checklist is a bride’s BEST friend.

So here’s exactly what I recommend doing during the final month before your wedding.

4 Weeks Out

This week is all about confirmations and organization.

Make sure you:

confirm arrival times with all vendors

finalize your ceremony and reception timeline

submit final guest count to the venue and caterer

create seating charts

prepare tip envelopes

arrange final payments

This is also the perfect time to hand off décor plans and special instructions to your coordinator so nothing is left to chance.

3 Weeks Out

Now we move into the personal details.

break in your wedding shoes

schedule any final beauty appointments

gather items for your emergency kit

confirm honeymoon travel plans

plan meals and getting-ready logistics

If you’re having an intimate wedding of around 60 guests like one of my recent couples, this process will feel much simpler – but still deserves attention.

2 Weeks Out

This is when I tell my Vision to Vows brides:

👉 Stop adding NEW projects!

Instead focus on:

printing signage

organizing place cards

packing for the wedding weekend

confirming rehearsal details

preparing the marriage license

Having a day-of coordinator in place at this point brings huge peace of mind. You know someone will be there to keep the train running on schedule.

1 Week Out

Take a deep breath – you’re almost there!

This final week should include:

a detailed walkthrough with your venue

handing off personal items to trusted helpers

packing a “day of” bag

relaxing as much as possible

getting excited instead of overwhelmed

Your coordinator will handle last-minute questions, vendor texts, and final timeline tweaks.

Bonus Tips for a Stress-Free Final Month

Keep all documents in one shared Google Drive or email thread

Don’t try to manage vendors yourself on the wedding day

Build in buffer time to your schedule

Ask for help early

Why This Month Matters

Even perfectly planned weddings need someone in charge at the finish line.

That’s exactly why day-of coordination exists.
